at the Mayor’s Giant ArtsWeek 2004 Kickoff at Nathan
Phillips Square. Noon – 2.30 pm. The Coalition is
producing this event. Mark your calendars.
At the Kickoff Mayor David Miller will officially proclaim
September 23 - October 3 as ArtsWeek 2004 and address the
gathering about the vital importance of Toronto’s
artists and their organizations, not only to Toronto, but
to all of Canada.
The Mayor is inviting the whole City to attend the Kickoff.
There’ll be artists from all over town. Celebrities
and dignitaries. Food. Entertainment. Revelry and riotous
amusement.
There’ll also be significant media coverage. This
is a real opportunity for the arts community to show up
in strength—to stand up and be counted.
Bring all your friends, family and associates. Invite everybody
you know who cares about the health of the arts in Toronto.
Our Coalition is now nearly 4000 strong. Our voice is getting
louder. It’s being heard.
