The 2007 Toronto Arts Council Foundation Awards were presented
on October 17 at the second annual Mayor’s Arts
Awards Lunch at the Four Seasons Hotel. The ceremony
brought together a large and diverse crowd of art lovers. Broadcaster
Jian Ghomeshi emceed the event for the second
year, and Patricia O’Callaghan, Gregory Oh
and Drumartz shared their musical talent with
us. Among the guests were Soulpepper founding members Albert
Schultz and Martha Burns; multi-disciplinary
dance-artiste Peter Chin; Waterfront Toronto
CEO John Campbell; Artscape Foundation President
Sarmite Bulte; TV personalities Colin
McAllister and Justin Ryan; architect
Bruce Kuwabara; philanthropists Jim and
Sandra Pitblado and Don Johnson, ROM’s
CEO William Thorsell; Sam (the Record
Man) Sniderman; curator Judith Tatar;
City Councillors including Joe Pantalone, Kyle Rae, Sandra
Bussin, Joe Mihevc; fashion designer Pat McDonagh;
MPP Cheri DiNovo; United Way CEO Frances
Lankin; OCAD President Sara Diamond,
