Peter Coy - Conservative

Thank you very much for writing me regarding the Conservative Party's support for the arts and Canadian artists.

I have long been involved in promoting the arts in Toronto, most recently as President of the Toronto Operetta Theatre where I coined the phrase "Support the arts, Art is who we are". Like you, I fully appreciate the importance of the arts and culture in enriching our lives and our souls.

Please be assured that a Conservative government will support Canadian men and women working in the arts and our culture instititutions. Specifically, we will ensure that the CBC and Radio Canada continue to perform their vital role as Canada's public service broadcaster. We will also preserve the role of the National Film Board, Canada Council and other federal arts and culture agencies.
